3D Printsmith

3D Printsmith LLC is vertically integrated to allow clients who do not have print-ready CAD models, to have the modeling done through us. We use Solidworks CAD to develop parts and assemblies and produce 3d printer ready STL mesh files. We can take concept sketches or 2D drawings through to finished parts.

Where clients have STL files with problems (not watertight, open edges, bad mesh areas), we may be able to repair them through specialized software in house.

While we are not a design firm, the 3D Printsmith team has broad and deep product design experience, and may be able to help and advise on design issues.

For files created in Solidworks, we have the capability to do basic simulation analysis which will identify obviously weak areas and allow model correction of strength in a given direction, up to a desired safety factor for the prototype.
